We are very excited to announce that we now offer PRP facial treatments here at 3D Ultimate in Nottingham. You may have heard this been called the ‘Vampire facial’, a treatment that was unsurprisingly made famous by Kim Kardashian, but this is a lot more than just another celebrity body treatment.
PRP [Protein-Rich Plasma], Vampire Facial, Skin Pen, Dermapen, Microneedling– these are all different names for [essentially] the same procedure. But what is it exactly that is involved? We’re going to break that down today and give you even more insight into how these facial treatments in Nottingham can change your lives.
What is a PRP – Vampire Facial?
It is an anti-ageing medspa skin procedure where registered practitioners use a micro-needling device to inject your own extracted blood back into your face to increase collagen production.
The first step is that a certified phlebotomist (word of the day: someone licensed to take your blood) extracts a vial of blood from your arm with a needle and syringe, just like you are at the doctor’s office.
Next, they go into another room and put your blood into a machine that essentially spins your blood where they separate the red blood cells from the yellow-clear-ish plasma. Then they extract the protein-rich plasma (PRP) and put it in a little glass bowl.
The PRP goo is patted back on with gloved fingers onto your face section-by-section. A machine is then used to create micro-channels for the PRP to enter through. The idea here is that the micro-channels are mini-injuries, prompting your skin to produce extra collagen to repair itself. The micro-channels also allow for the better penetration of product– whether it be your body’s own PRP.

How long after the PRP injections before I see a change?
